Local painter Rob Franco has been photographing and translating the images of the beautiful horses of Assateague Island in Maryland into his lovely paintings for over 15 years. He will give a presentation this evening about his experiences with them and with the island, to includes a 20-minute video produced through the United States Parks Department and then a discussion about the area. Mr. Franco will also present a show and tell of objects from historical shipwrecks off the coast of Assateague, and more. This is an art demonstration program, providing valuable information about how to create paintings from photographs, and also it is a study of the methodical process of art. Our speaker will be showing his work also in the Library’s Wotiz Gallery during the month of December 2018, so this program should serve as a good introduction to the exhibit as well. So if you are interested in horses and/or art, please join us for a fascinating and unique topic.
