Tuesday, September 6, 2022
TIME: 7pm - 8:30pm LOCATION: Virtual CONTACT: Jean Hlad, 617.698.5757

Naturalist and Photographer Joy Marzolf will give a fascinating virtual talk this evening called “Dragonflies, Damselflies and Spreadwings: Beautiful and Beneficial.”  What are they doing in our yards?  How do you tell males from females?  Enjoy beautiful images of these animals and learn more about these amazing flyers and how their presence in our neighborhood can benefit all of us!

Ms. Marzolf has loved animals since she was a child growing up in New England, and she would always take advantage of any outdoor time to explore nature.  She loves to share her knowldge about wildlife in nature in general and in addition to a B.A. in Biology, she has been doing a variety of animal-related educational programs in her professional life for over 20 years.  Part of her animal experience includes working with marine mammals in rehab/rescue programs in Masssachusetts, and with a wide variety of captive and non-releasable rescued animals in Oregon.  She has also worked with reptiles in the wild, and in captivity, for over 20 years.  Joy worked as a Naturalist and Educator at Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary for over 13 years previously, and there she taught numerous programs for all ages on many animal-related topics, to include animal tracking and photography.  She was also a trip leader and naturalist on canoe trips in both MA and NH, and has also been a Naturalist Trip leader for marine-related trips for the Oceanic Society.   We hope you will attend this interesting virtual talk – please join us!
