Milton Public Library FY18 Proposed Budget

January 19, 2017

On January 11th, the Library Director and members of the Board of Trustees presented our proposed FY18 budget to the Warrant Committee. This budget was developed by Library Director, William Adamczyk, and the Board of Trustees who unanimously approved the budget recommendation.

As with all town departments, the library was asked to prepare two budget scenarios; a contingent budget (i.e. contingent on a tax override) and a non-contingent budget:

  1. Contingent Budget – This budget addresses the current needs and demands for Library services in Milton, including the funding of additional staffing to meet these needs
  2. Non-Contingent Budget – This is a level dollar budget, except for contractual obligations

The Library has used historical data and a strategic planning process to identify and anticipate the needs addressed in this budget.

The visit to the Warrant Committee was a first step in the overall budget process.
