Milton Grows

Milton Grows

Milton Grows is a year-long initiative of the Milton Public Library, focused on gardening and sustainability

Starting in October 2022, Library patrons can enjoy:
  • a robust slate of programming for all ages
  • the establishment of a Seed Library, where Milton library users will be able to “check out” seeds and plant them in their own gardens
  • and the construction of container gardens on our Canton Avenue patios, which will be planted, maintained, and harvested by library patrons!

Milton Grows is funded by the federal Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and supported by our partners Sustainable Milton and the Friends of the Milton Public Library.

Seed Library

A Seed Library is a collection of seeds that community members may “check out,” take home, and plant in their home garden.

The MPL’s Seed Library is reliant upon donations by Library patrons like you. To donate:

  1. Fill out this form
  2. Bring it, along with your seed packet(s), to the second floor Reference desk or the Friends Book Shop on the lower level during their open hours.

Seeds will become available for checkout in March 2023. Please stop by the second floor Reference Desk to learn more about our selection!

If you grow something with MPL Seed Library seeds, please show us your bounty! Send your pictures to mplseedlibrary@gmail.com
