The Milton Public Library is hosting a lovely photography exhibit in our first floor Wotiz Gallery from July lst through the 31st. This display is a nice collection of photos taken by Photographer Craig Hlady, who hails from Dedham, MA.  The images shown include many subjects, including animals in their natural environment, landscapes, sculpture and abstracts, musicians in live performance, a wide variety of colorful birds, travel images, and many more.  This will be a large group of bright and colorful photos arranged by genre.  There will be a free and open reception on Wednesday, July 9th, from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Wotiz Gallery where you may meet the artist and view this varied and interesting collection.

The photographer says the following about his craft: “Starting with a photography class in high school and shooting with film, then learning to use a darkroom, I progressed to utilizing digital cameras over many years.  I have continued to pursue my artistic vision with this work.  I have tried to capture iconic musicians in performance, scenes of nature, wildlife, travel landscapes, and abstract images that were of interest to me at the time.  With many thousands of photos in my collection, it was hard to choose what to include in this exhibit, and so I am now presenting a small cross-section of my work that hopefully some of you may enjoy.”

Mr. Hlady is a retired music Professor from the Berklee College of Music Guitar Department, and has been in the music profession for over 50 years.  He also has had a keen interest in pursuing art and photography during this same period, although these endeavors have sometimes taken a back seat to music.  Craig currently works from his home studio, Tower Recording, where he offers music services to include live performances, guitar instruction, and studio production/recording for other artists.  He also regularly composes music tracks for film and TV libraries in L.A.   Craig can be reached via Email at: cmhlady@gmail.com and his website is: www.towerrecording.net
